About this position

Postdoctoral Scholar in Neurology at The Ohio State University

The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University is advertising an immediate-start postdoctoral position in the Desplats Lab. The project investigates how altered epigenetic mechanisms and circadian desynchrony contribute to adult neurodegenerative disorders and accelerated aging.

Research themes include neurodegeneration, epigenetics, circadian biology, multi-omics, transcriptional analysis, spatial omics, CRISPR, Cre/flox tools, mouse models, and bioinformatics. The lab highlights prior work on alpha-synuclein propagation, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and circadian modulation of cognitive decline.

The successful candidate will plan and execute complex experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot protocols, contribute to manuscripts, and support grant applications. The role involves cellular and mouse models, transcriptional and epigenetic assays, and advanced data analysis.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in neuroscience, molecular biology, or cell biology. Strong research skills, statistical expertise, and excellent communication skills are required. Prior experience in chronobiology and rhythmic datasets is expected, and hands-on experience with ChIP-seq, snRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, spatial omics, tissue culture, CRISPR, stereotactic injections, brain sectioning, immunostaining, and bioinformatic pipelines is highly preferred.

This is a full-time term position located at the Biomedical Research Tower in the United States. Apply via the Ohio State Workday portal using the provided job link.
