About this position
Postdoctoral Scholar opportunity at the University of Central Florida in the Petelski Lab, Department of Materials Science & Engineering, Orlando, Florida, United States.
The lab is seeking a postdoc to help with lab set-up, drive scientific projects, mentor junior researchers, and pursue research questions in proteomics. The role focuses on profiling proteome changes in cancerous environments, during regeneration, and/or in response to biomaterials.
Research areas and keywords: mass spectrometry proteomics, single-cell proteomics, bulk proteomics, cancer biology, biomaterials, materials science, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, human tissue analysis, musculoskeletal disease, osteoarthritis, and computational analysis with R.
Responsibilities include: preparing and analyzing samples using single-cell and bulk proteomics methodologies; writing and publishing high-impact manuscripts; building clinical collaborations with hospitals and research institutes; and supervising/training graduate and undergraduate students.
Eligibility: a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related field is required. The PhD must be conferred before the start date. Preferred experience includes mass spectrometry proteomics, instrument set-up, sample preparation, data acquisition and analysis, human tissue preparation for protein analyses, experience with cancer or musculoskeletal disease, materials characterization, R, and strong communication/troubleshooting skills.
Funding: full-time fixed-term postdoctoral appointment with an expected salary of $57,000.
