About this position
QuICS (the Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science) at the University of Maryland, College Park, in partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is offering the QuICS Hartree Postdoctoral Fellowships in Quantum Information and Computer Science.
The fellowship supports research across a broad range of topics, including quantum algorithms, quantum complexity theory, quantum communication, quantum error correction and fault tolerance, quantum-enhanced metrology, quantum cryptography and quantum-secure cryptography, implementations of quantum information processing, foundations of quantum mechanics, and applications of quantum information to physics.
Postdoctoral fellows are expected to collaborate closely with one or more QuICS Fellows and will have opportunities to interact with leading researchers at UMD and NIST. The appointment is for two years, with the possibility of extension for a third year.
Funding includes a competitive salary, benefits, and a small stipend for research expenses.
Applicants should submit a CV with a complete publication list, a two-page research statement, and arrange for three reference letters. The deadline for full consideration is December 1, 2026; applications may be considered until the positions are filled.
This is a strong opportunity for researchers in quantum information, quantum computing, and related physics/computer science areas seeking a postdoctoral position in the United States.
