About this position

University of Oldenburg is advertising a Research Associate in Management in the Management Research Group at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. The role sits at the intersection of sustainability, strategy, and innovation, with research topics including cleantech innovation (for example, battery technologies), sustainability strategies, and technology phase-out.

This is a paid academic position at E13 TV-L, initially at 50% FTE. The post offers the opportunity to pursue either a PhD or a postdoctoral qualification, with an international research environment, close supervision, and mentoring. From 1 July 2026 to 31 December 2027, an increase to 100% FTE is possible and preferred, subject to external funding for longer-term continuation.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a completed Master’s, Diploma, or equivalent degree in business, social sciences, natural sciences, or engineering. For postdoctoral/habilitation-track candidates, a completed relevant PhD and experience writing academic papers in English are expected, ideally including at least one paper under review in a JOURQUAL-4 A-ranked journal. Strong analytical skills, motivation, teamwork, communication skills, and excellent English are emphasized; teaching, research methods, and project management experience are desirable.
