About this position

LQUOM Co., Ltd. is recruiting for a researcher / postdoc-equivalent position in quantum communication, with a strong focus on quantum repeaters, quantum optics, quantum information, and related hardware and theory. The role is based in Japan and involves collaborative research with Yokohama National University (Horikiri Laboratory, Graduate School of Engineering).

The research themes include development of quantum light sources, quantum memory, frequency stabilization, and link systems for quantum repeaters. Specific examples mentioned are optical systems using rare-earth-doped crystals, digital and analog control systems for stable operation, miniaturization and modularization of quantum repeaters, theoretical work on repeater protocols, and implementation methods for applications such as quantum key distribution and distributed quantum computing.

This opening is suitable for candidates with experience in quantum-related experimental or theoretical work, laser-based optical/communication experiments, or systems engineering that integrates multiple measurement and control devices. Preferred backgrounds include optical engineering, spectroscopy, AMO physics, cryogenic physics, quantum memory materials, laser stabilization, FPGA/DSP, analog circuits, and quantum communication protocols.

The position is a permanent employee role with no fixed term and a 3-month probationary period. Salary is listed at 6 million to 15 million yen annually, with higher compensation for PhD holders and strong skill matches. Benefits include bonuses, commuting support, social insurance, telework, relocation support, and housing assistance.

The application deadline is 2027-06-23. Applicants should submit an electronic CV and a list of achievements/publications by email to [email protected]. The company asks applicants to mention that they found the call on JREC-IN. An online interview is expected after document screening.
