Scientist / Postdoc (m/f/d) – Proteomics Research Group Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences – ISAS in Germany

The Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften – ISAS – e. V. in Dortmund, Germany, is inviting applications for a Scientist / Postdoc (m/f/d) in its Research Group Proteomics. The role sits within a research environment focused on analytical methods for health research, with strong links to precision medicine, biomarker-oriented analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration across biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, pharmacology, and computer science.

This position is part of the joint project MikrobiomProCheck – Establishment of clinical microbiome analyses. The successful candidate will plan and perform proteome analyses, further develop methods and procedures for sample processing and quantitative proteome analysis, document laboratory work, cooperate with project partners, and present results regularly. The work is closely connected to mass spectrometry-based proteome research and applied bioanalytics, making it a strong fit for candidates with experience in proteomics, analytical laboratory workflows, and quantitative measurement data interpretation.

Eligibility highlights: a degree in a natural science field such as biology, chemistry, or physics (or an equivalent qualification), experience in a laboratory environment ideally connected to bioanalytics, knowledge of mass spectrometry-based proteome research, strong communication and organizational skills, MS Office proficiency, willingness to travel, and very good written and spoken English. German language skills are advantageous. The position is advertised as a recognized researcher / postdoc role and is therefore not a PhD opening.

Funding and contract: the post is full-time, fixed-term, and salaried according to the German TV-L pay scale at E13. The contract runs until 31 December 2028, with the position available immediately. The job is not funded by an EU research framework programme.
