The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is seeking applications for a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Veterinary Bacteriology at the Department of Animal Biosciences, Uppsala. This tenured position focuses on teaching and research in veterinary bacteriology, with an emphasis on bacterial pathogens relevant to animal health, including sports, companion, and food animals. The role involves academic leadership in teaching, supervision, and curriculum development, as well as the supervision of PhD, MSc, and undergraduate students.

The department covers a wide range of research areas, including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, genetics, breeding, immunology, bacteriology, virology, parasitology, epizootology, comparative medicine, food safety, bioinformatics, and One Health. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and lead internationally recognized research, collaborate across veterinary and life science disciplines, and contribute to the strategic development of the department and university.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent in a relevant field, demonstrate research and teaching expertise, and have experience at all academic levels. Proficiency in English and Swedish is required. Skills in molecular biology and bioinformatics are considered advantageous.
