Senior Research Fellow (AI Adoption and Productivity) at The University of Manchester, within the Productivity Institute and Alliance Manchester Business School.
This fixed-term research role focuses on the adoption and impact of AI tools in a large complex organisation, with a particular emphasis on productivity, digital transformation, and institutional evaluation. The role also involves research ethics, data governance, information security approvals, and collaboration with IT, HR, teaching and learning, faculty contacts, and external partners.
Academic background: PhD or equivalent in a relevant area such as economics, management, applied data sciences, or innovation studies.
Desirable experience: programme evaluation, survey design, linked administrative or telemetry data under GDPR, causal inference methods (e.g. difference-in-differences, event studies), research on the economics of AI or technology adoption, and qualitative case-study work.
