About this position

The University of Iowa’s Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Carver College of Medicine is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in virology. The position is open to researchers working on host-pathogen interactions, antiviral immunity, virus structure and assembly, viral pathogenesis, emerging and re-emerging viruses, and therapeutic development, with interest in both experimental and computational approaches.

This faculty role includes a 12-month appointment, full fringe benefits, a competitive start-up package, office and laboratory space, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities, instrumentation, and BSL3 / animal BSL3 space. The department highlights strong research activity and NIH training support in virology and parasitism.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D., have postdoctoral experience, and show a strong record of research accomplishments.
