About this position
University of Michigan is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Cell and Molecular Biology / Virology in the Maurer Lab, based in the Department of Biophysics and affiliated with Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan Medical School.
The project focuses on adeno-associated viral vector biology and related research in cell and molecular biology, virology, host-pathogen interactions, mammalian gene regulation, chromatin structure and function, DNA replication/repair, and advanced laboratory research. Eligibility: applicants should hold or be nearing completion of a PhD in Biological Sciences, Virology/Microbiology/Immunology, Biophysics, Biomedical Sciences/Engineering, or a related field. Strong experience in one or more of the following is required: plasmid library cloning and screening, virology (especially DNA viruses), mammalian gene regulation, chromatin biology, DNA replication/repair, or cryo-electron tomography. Preferred skills include mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, flow cytometry, CRISPR/Cas9 perturbations, and confocal/live imaging.
Funding: this is a salaried postdoctoral appointment with a listed salary of $63,480–$70,000 per year. The initial appointment is for one year with a possible second-year extension depending on performance and funding. International applicants are welcome, but H1B visa sponsorship is not available.
