About this position

Aarhus University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy is advertising a two-year postdoctoral position in ultrafast dynamics in dielectric nanoparticles.

The postdoc will join the Materials and light group and contribute to a new research project focused on trapped dielectric nanoparticles. The work includes building a new nanoparticle trap, establishing an experimental platform for optical pump-probe studies, setting up a CEP-stabilized laser system, and investigating attosecond carrier dynamics. The project also involves comparing experiments and simulations and publishing results in papers and conferences.

Academic keywords: experimental physics, photonics, ultrafast laser techniques, particle trapping, high-harmonic generation, attosecond dynamics, dielectric nanoparticles, optical pump-probe spectroscopy, laser systems, materials dynamics.

Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD in experimental physics, photonics, or a related area. Experience with particle trapping and/or ultrafast-laser techniques is strongly preferred, and experience with high-harmonic generation and attosecond dynamics is an advantage. Strong spoken and written English is expected.

Funding and terms: this is a full-time, fixed-term postdoctoral appointment from 1 March 2027 to 28 February 2029. Salary and employment conditions follow the Danish collective labor agreement.

Location: Department of Physics and Astronomy, Aarhus University, Aarhus C, Denmark.

Deadline: 1 December 2026 at 23:59 CET.

How to apply: submit the application in English through Aarhus University’s recruitment system. Include a CV, degree certificate, publication list, future research plan, research activity information, teaching portfolio, and verified teaching experience if applicable.
