The project is part of an international interdisciplinary consortium studying the molecular mechanisms of appetite regulation in human stem cell-derived hypothalamic in vitro models. The work combines stem cell biology , neuroscience , GPCR signaling , proteomics , and high-throughput screening to investigate receptor-mediated activation of appetite-suppressing and appetite-stimulating neurons. You will work with human pluripotent stem cells, subtype-specific differentiation into neurons and glial cells, qRT-PCR, immunocytochemistry, automated image analysis, gene-edited cell lines, proximity labelling, and mechanistic studies in a collaborative research environment.
