PhD Opportunity in Mathematics Education & AI at Texas A&M University (Fall 2027) Professor Ali Bicer is recruiting a PhD student to join the Creative Mathematics Teaching & Learning Lab (CMTL²) at Texas A&M University. The project is part of a five-year NSF-funded IUSE initiative focused on how AI-guided professional learning can strengthen preservice teachers’ content knowledge (CK), pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), and mathematical creativity (MC). This is a strong fit for applicants interested in mathematics education , AI in education , mathematics teacher education , and teacher professional learning . The work involves a large-scale, multi-institutional research collaboration across eight geographically diverse institutions in the United States, with opportunities for module development, implementation, data collection and analysis, conference presentations, and scholarly publications. Applicants with backgrounds in mathematics, mathematics teaching, or mathematics education are especially encouraged to apply. Experience with AI, programming, educational technology, or quantitative/qualitative research methods is preferred but not required. Funding is linked to an NSF-funded research project, but the post does not specify stipend, tuition coverage, or other financial details. The opening is for Fall 2027 .
