Ontario Tech University is seeking two motivated MSc students to join the research group of Assistant Professor Ali Neshati in the field of Wearable Computing and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The research focuses on developing novel interaction techniques for wearable technologies, including smartwatches, mobile devices, and AR/VR systems. Key topics include content presentation on small and immersive displays, as well as AI-driven systems for adapting information to users through wearables. This opportunity is ideal for students with backgrounds in computer science, HCI, user experience, or related disciplines. The research is hands-on, involving prototyping interactive systems, conducting user studies, and publishing results. Candidates with prior experience in wearable computing, intelligent interfaces, or system prototyping are especially encouraged to apply. Multiple MSc and PhD positions are available in the User Experience and Interaction Design (UXID) Lab in the Department of Computer Science at Ontario Tech University . The lab is led by Ali Neshati , an Assistant Professor working in Human-Computer Interaction and related areas. The lab describes itself as an active and collaborative research environment with more than 8 graduate students working on innovative projects. Research areas include interaction with mobile and wearable devices, data visualization on small displays, LLMs and AI to support interaction with mobile and wearable devices, and augmented and virtual reality. Students with interests in Computer Science , HCI , UX design , AI , and interactive systems are encouraged to apply. Funding: the positions are fully funded for domestic students, while partial funding is available for international students due to tuition differences.
