Postdoctoral Researcher position in Successful Cognitive Aging within the interdisciplinary Collaborative Research Center 1436 Neural Resources of Cognition . The project focuses on why some individuals maintain exceptional cognitive abilities into advanced age and which molecular, structural, and functional brain mechanisms support resilience to aging and Alzheimer’s disease pathology. The successful candidate will work with longitudinal, multimodal data from a deeply phenotyped Aging and SuperAging cohort , including cognitive, lifestyle, blood biomarker, MRI, and PET data. Research interests highlighted in the post include brain resilience, reserve, and maintenance ; sex and gender differences in resilience; multimodal neuroimaging (3T and 7T fMRI, vascular imaging, tau-PET, synaptic density PET); advanced multivariate and longitudinal analyses ; immunological factors; and structural/functional brain networks supporting reserve. The position is embedded in a highly collaborative neuroscience environment at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg , Deutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen (DZNE) , and the LIN . The post offers substantial freedom to develop an independent research profile and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds.
