PhD Research Assistantships in Quantitative Ecology are available at Florida Atlantic University through the ecoNetworks Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences / Integrative Biology PhD Program. The lab is recruiting up to 2 PhD students to begin in the Fall 2027 semester. Research is broadly at the intersection of animal behavior and species interactions , with projects that may integrate computer vision , deep learning (including immersive laboratory VR arenas), empirical field experiments , and mathematical & computational modeling . Funding includes 1 year (3 semesters) of NSF-funded RA support with tuition , health coverage , and a $29,000–$30,000 annual stipend . After the initial year, students are supported through guaranteed Teaching Assistantships . Applicants should have a strong interest in quantitative and computational biology . Preferred preparation includes a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology, ecology, evolution, computational biology, mathematics, physics, computer science , or related fields. Students who will complete their bachelor’s degree by the start date are also encouraged to apply.
