This postdoctoral project is part of the regional
PYRAMIDE
initiative, focused on
porphyrin-based electrocatalysts
for the
hydrogen evolution reaction (HER)
. The recruited researcher will work within the
EMCAP team
(Electrochemistry, Materials, Coordination, Analyses and Porphyrinoids) on the synthesis, electrochemical functionalization, and electropolymerization of porphyrin-based molecules and materials, followed by evaluation of their catalytic performance using electroanalytical and analytical techniques, including micro-GC.
The Institute of Molecular Chemistry of the University of Burgundy is a research-intensive environment with strong activities in
environment and health
, supported by advanced technological platforms. The role includes protocol development for molecular synthesis and functionalization, preparation of porphyrin-based materials, installation support for a new micro-GC instrument, and assessment of key electrocatalytic parameters such as TOF and TON. The researcher will also contribute to literature monitoring, weekly progress reporting in English, scientific publications and/or patents, and presentation of results at conferences and seminars.
Applicants should hold a
PhD or equivalent
and have
less than three years of postdoctoral experience
. Strong practical and theoretical expertise in
molecular synthesis
and
electrochemistry
is required, with mandatory prior experience in
electrocatalysis
. The laboratory expects excellent command of relevant characterization methods, including NMR, IR/Raman, UV-Vis, MALDI-TOF, and ESI HRMS, as well as familiarity with organic synthesis of macrocycles, coordination chemistry, cyclic voltammetry, inert-atmosphere work, chromatography, and laboratory safety procedures. Strong scientific English, teamwork, autonomy, rigor, and organizational skills are emphasized.
The appointment is a
temporary, full-time postdoctoral contract
for
12 months
