University Assistant without doctorate (m/f/d) in Mathematics Education

University of Graz is advertising a University Assistant without doctorate (m/f/d) in the Department of Mathematics and Scientific Computing , with a strong research and teaching focus in Mathematics Education . The post is designed for a candidate who will prepare and write a doctoral dissertation while contributing to the Mathematics Education Working Group, research projects, and school laboratory activities at the Teacher Education Centre for Science and Mathematics Education (Dinama). The role combines doctoral research with academic service and teaching. Responsibilities include participation in national and international projects on multimodal and linguistic aspects of teaching and learning mathematics , embodiment in mathematics , and inclusive mathematics education . The successful applicant will also teach and examine courses in mathematics education or mathematics within teacher training, support third-party funding applications, assist in the supervision of Bachelor's theses, and contribute to departmental administration and academic self-governance. This is a temporary 4-year employment starting on 2026-11-02 . The position is listed with a salary category of B1 without PhD , and the annual gross salary for a full-time position is at least € 52,865.40 ; overpayment based on qualification and experience may be possible. The post is advertised at 20 hours per week .
