Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher for a 2-year funded project on the impact evaluation of protected-area effectiveness across Southeast Asia . The project sits at the intersection of biology , environmental science , statistics , and spatial conservation analysis. The successful candidate will work on evaluating conservation outcomes, likely using R , GIS , species distribution modelling, and large biodiversity datasets. Required background: a PhD in ecology or conservation science, strong R and GIS skills, familiarity with species distribution modelling, and relevant publications. Preferred experience: impact evaluation methods, large biodiversity datasets such as GBIF and citizen-science data, and knowledge of Southeast Asian biodiversity and conservation priorities. Flexible consideration: exceptionally qualified applicants who are close to completing a PhD, or applicants with a Master's degree and strong analytical/research experience, may also be considered.
