PhD in Lived Experience Experts, Health Equity, and Social Care Implementation

PhD opportunity

health equity, lived experience expertise, implementation science, and social care practice
. The project focuses on co-developing, pilot-testing, and evaluating the
Lived Experience Expert Network (LEEN) Model
, a novel equity-driven system designed to embed lived experience experts authentically into intervention planning, delivery, and evaluation.
The doctoral research is based in the
Health and Social Care Unit
within the
School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine
at Monash University and is linked to the
SEMPRE program
and the
VILLAGE Network
. The work uses the
Intervention Mapping-Equity
approach and includes a pragmatic scoping review, critical assessment of implementation frameworks such as CFIR through a lived experience lens, co-development of the LEEN model with community members, and mixed-methods evaluation.

. The post highlights academic and community-led mentorship, a collaborative research culture, and direct engagement with lived experience and consumer/community involvement.
Eligibility
includes at least an Honours degree or equivalent in public health, applied science (such as psychology or health science), allied health, social science, or a related discipline. Applicants should be able to work independently and in a team, commit to full-time PhD candidature, and ideally show understanding of social determinants of health. A strong CV is desirable, with potential eligibility for Monash or external scholarships.
Funding
