Postdoctoral Scholar opportunity in evolutionary theory , plasticity , transgenerational plasticity , phenotypic plasticity , behavioral theory , and evolutionary modeling at the University of California, Santa Cruz . Professor Suzanne Alonzo (Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology) is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar to Develop Theory on the Evolution of Plasticity . The scholar will develop evolutionary theory on transgenerational and phenotypic plasticity in response to parental cues, collaborate with empiricists testing predictions in threespine stickleback , and help train undergraduate researchers. This is an NSF-funded postdoctoral position with salary estimated at $71,491-$79,727 , commensurate with qualifications and experience. The project is a collaboration between UCSC and Ohio State University , involving undergraduate research opportunities and professional development activities at both institutions. Eligibility highlights include a doctoral degree in evolution, animal behavior, or a related field; experience with mathematical modeling or related quantitative methods; and prior experience working with students. Strong candidates will also have experience with sexual selection, parental effects, and/or plasticity. Relevant empirical research experience is desired but not required.
