SWBio DTP Fully Funded Biosciences PhD Studentships in Engineering Biology and Related Areas

SWBio DTP is advertising fully funded PhD studentships in biosciences for a September 2026 start. The programme is a 4-year doctoral training partnership with a structured first year of taught training and rotation projects, followed by PhD research, cohort activities, and placements in Years 2–4. The post highlights several research projects across the University of Bristol and University of Exeter , including engineering biology , protein design , polyketide synthase enzyme redesign , targeted protein degradation , transcription factor and peptide regulator discovery , magnetic field sensitivity in biological systems , and multi-omics for polymicrobial interactions and AI-assisted rapid diagnostics . Eligibility includes a First or Upper Second Class UK Honours degree , or equivalent. A Lower Second may be considered if you also have a Masters degree or relevant experience.
