The position is part of the NCN-funded project
“Climate signals in Earth's Rotation: Impact on the interpretation of variations in Earth Orientation Parameters and their forecasting”
. The researcher will contribute to work led by
Prof. Jolanta Nastula
, focusing on climate-related signals in Earth rotation, interpretation of Earth Orientation Parameters, and forecasting-related analysis. The role is full-time, temporary, and based in Warsaw, with stationary work as the main form of activity and only occasional remote work possible.
Funding and duration:
gross salary is
9,770 PLN/month
, with employment for
25 months
and a possible extension. The anticipated start date is
1 November 2026
(negotiable).
Eligibility highlights:
applicants should have a PhD or equivalent in Geodesy, Earth Sciences (including Geophysics), or a related discipline. The post is intended for a postdoctoral researcher meeting NCN and Polish Academy of Sciences rules, including the career-stage limits specified in the advertisement.
Profile sought:
strong background in Earth system dynamics, global mass transport and distribution, modelling of mass changes in Earth’s liquid reservoirs, numerical modelling, time series analysis, and programming (especially Matlab or Fortran). Excellent English, strong communication skills, independence, teamwork, and the ability to publish scientific results are required.
