The Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics (LAP) at
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
is recruiting a
Postdoctoral Researcher in Atmospheric Modelling
. The role is centered on
chemical transport modelling
,
atmospheric composition
,
air quality
, and analysis of large atmospheric datasets in
HPC
environments.
The successful candidate will contribute to
CAMS4PolicyGR
, a project funded under the
Copernicus ECMWF National Collaboration Programme
and implemented through the
European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)
. The work includes
TNO LOTOS-EUROS
modelling over Greece, with sector-resolved source apportionment at approximately
5 km spatial resolution
.
Applicants should hold a
PhD
in Atmospheric/Environmental Physics or Sciences, Meteorology, Environmental/Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Strong hands-on experience with at least one regional
CTM
(e.g., LOTOS-EUROS, CAMx, CMAQ, CHIMERE, WRF-Chem) is expected, along with experience in atmospheric pollutants, Linux, HPC, and scientific programming/data analysis, preferably using
Python
and
NetCDF
. Experience with emission inventories, source apportionment, CAMS/Copernicus products, model evaluation, satellite Earth Observation, or data assimilation is highly valued.
The position is
full-time
