Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is offering a Research Fellow / Postdoc (m/f/d) in Finance in the Department of Corporate Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. This is a full-time, temporary academic position at E 13 TV-L HU , scheduled to start on 1 October 2026 and run until 30 September 2028 . The post is part of the university’s Finance Group, which includes chairs in Corporate Finance (Prof. Tim Adam), Financial Intermediation (Prof. Max Bruche), and Financial Economics (Prof. Alex Stomper). The group’s research agenda covers empirical corporate finance , financial intermediation , asset management , and climate finance , with a strong emphasis on rigorous and relevant research that is publishable in leading academic journals. The successful candidate will conduct independent research and contribute to teaching and research activities in the Department of Corporate Finance, particularly in corporate finance or a related area. The postdoc will also have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty members on developing new research projects and will receive access to standard databases through Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) . The fellowship is also intended to provide experience in the German university system and in raising research funding from German government agencies. Eligibility is targeted at outstanding recent graduates from non-German universities , irrespective of nationality. Applicants should already hold a PhD in finance , have postdoctoral experience at a university, and demonstrate strong alignment with corporate finance research. Additional requirements include excellent econometrics and programming skills (Stata or R), database experience, and English proficiency at C1 level or equivalent .
