Three funded research positions are available with tuition support and a stipend at Tennessee Technological University in the group of Mazen Hussein , Associate Professor of Engineering. The openings include one Ph.D. position in Civil Engineering (transportation background) , one Ph.D. position in Industrial Engineering , and one M.S. position in Civil Engineering . The research focus is data-driven engineering , optimization , modeling , and decision-making , with opportunities to build research skills, contribute to publications, and work on applied engineering projects. Preferred applicants have programming experience with Python , C/C++ , MATLAB , or related tools, plus interest or experience in data analysis , optimization , and modeling . Familiarity with GIS , simulation , or transportation analysis is a plus. Strong communication, teamwork, and technical writing skills are also valued.
