PhD in Environmental Science: Microplastics and Arctic Clouds

PhD position in Environmental Science

microplastics and Arctic clouds

Plastic in Arctic Clouds: Microplastics and their influence on ice-nucleation (PAC-MAN)
, investigates whether microplastics are present in Arctic clouds and how they may affect cloud microphysics, ice nucleation, and climate.

doctoral employment
rather than a scholarship, and it is funded by the
Swedish Research Council
.
Eligibility:
applicants must meet general doctoral admission requirements and specific subject requirements. This includes an advanced degree or equivalent, plus at least 45 advanced-level credits in biology, chemistry, geoscience, physics, or meteorology, including a 30-credit independent project, and at least 30 additional credits in other natural science subjects. Strong English communication skills are required. Experience with atmospheric measurements, aerosol analysis (e.g. FTIR), laboratory work, data analysis/programming (e.g. Python), and fieldwork is considered advantageous.
