Fully funded PhD opportunity at RMIT University in Australia on teal carbon and freshwater wetland restoration . The project sits within the RMIT Centre for Nature Positive Solutions and is linked to recently secured funding exploring carbon opportunities in freshwater wetlands. The research direction is flexible and can be shaped around the successful candidate’s strengths and interests. Possible directions include: • Spatial science : GIS, remote sensing, wetland mapping, connectivity, and restoration prioritisation • Environmental economics : natural capital, marginal abatement costs, investment, and environmental markets • Environmental law and policy : carbon and biodiversity markets, permanence, additionality, land tenure, and regulatory design The scholarship is a standard 3.5-year RMIT PhD scholarship , based in Australia , and open to domestic and international applicants . The post does not mention a stipend amount, but it is described as fully funded. Ideal applicants will have a first-class research Masters or strong Honours degree , excellent academic results, and demonstrated research experience.
