Postdoctoral position in the Neuropsychoimaging of Addiction and Related Conditions (NARC) program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The group studies the addicted human brain and tests the impaired Response Inhibition and Salience Attribution (iRISA) model in cocaine, heroin, and other substance use disorders. The work combines multimodal imaging and interventions, including fMRI, structural MRI, EEG, PET, and related computational approaches. Projects mentioned include a transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) trial with MRI before and after stimulation, real-time fMRI neurofeedback in opioid use disorder, speech/NLP/large language model markers of craving and treatment outcome, and machine learning subtyping of addiction severity from functional connectivity and multimodal brain-body imaging. The position is aimed at candidates with strong neuroimaging and/or computational experience, especially fMRI/EEG analysis, machine learning, NLP, or signal processing. The post also emphasizes self-motivation, initiative, and a clear interest in addiction and related conditions. Funding is NIH-supported, the role is multi-year, and the start is immediate.
