Postdoc in Bayesian Cognitive Modelling of Early Childhood Cognitive Development

Radboud University is advertising a postdoc position in the Faculty of Social Sciences, based at the Donders Institute and the Baby and Child Research Center in Nijmegen, Netherlands. The project focuses on Bayesian cognitive modelling , infant cognition , cognitive development , and the use of longitudinal developmental data to understand how early learning shapes later intelligence. The successful candidate will join the BabyBRAIN team (PIs: Sabine Hunnius and Max Hinne ) and the Uncertainty in Complex Systems lab. The role involves developing, validating, and implementing computational models of infant cognition and testing them empirically in infants. The environment is interdisciplinary, bringing together developmental scientists, cognitive scientists, and computer scientists. Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD in cognitive science, developmental cognitive neuroscience, AI, or a related field. Experience with computational modelling is required, and experience with experimental developmental psychology is a plus. The post is a 3-year temporary employment contract. Funding: salary scale 11, based on a 38-hour working week, plus an 8% holiday allowance, an 8.3% end-of-year bonus, extra leave days, flexible working, and pension benefits.
