Postdoctoral Researcher opportunity at the University of Zurich in the Laboratory for Molecular Neuro-Oncology / Department for Neurology, working on next-generation CAR immune cell therapies against malignant brain tumors . This is an ERC-funded, fully funded postdoctoral position starting September 1, 2026, or by arrangement . The project is highly interdisciplinary and combines cancer immunology , neuroscience , cell biology , bioengineering , and advanced translational research. The research aims to develop multifunctional, multi-immune-cell strategies, including engineered T cells , NK cells , monocytes , and additional cell types. The work will use sophisticated in vitro and in vivo engineering platforms, disease models such as organoids , slice cultures , patient-derived samples , and mouse models , plus modern technologies including flow cytometry , multiplexed imaging , spatial transcriptomics/proteomics , and single-cell profiling . The successful candidate will also analyze patient samples from an accompanying clinical trial evaluating CAR immune cell communities. The lab highlights a strong track record in translational innovation and offers mentorship, collaborative research, and opportunities for academic or entrepreneurial career paths. Eligibility highlights: PhD in immunology, computational immunology, cell/molecular/cancer biology, bioengineering, biomedical sciences, or a related field; experience with immune cell engineering, cellular immunotherapy, and/or advanced disease models is highly desirable; familiarity with single-cell or spatial technologies is a plus; strong publication record and excellent communication skills are expected.
