Doctoral Researcher (Computational Physics)

Tampere University is advertising a fully funded doctoral researcher position in Computational Physics within the Many-Body Theory group . The project focuses on the computational study of quantum nuclear effects in solids , with particular emphasis on how these effects influence the electronic structure and other properties of realistic solid-state systems. The selected doctoral researcher will contribute to the development of an in-house program package and run advanced computations on solid-state materials, making this a strong opportunity for candidates interested in method development, many-body theory, and high-performance scientific computing. The position is part of the Theory Program of the Helsinki Institute of Physics and is described as well funded. It is offered for three years , with a preferred start in fall 2026 and some flexibility in the starting date. A typical starting salary is around 3000 EUR/month .
