Xinying Hou

Xinying Hou, Assistant Professor of Data Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology , is actively recruiting PhD students for the ANTLER (Advance Next-generation Technology for Learner and Educator Readiness) Lab for Spring/Fall 2027 . The lab’s research centers on a key question in AI in Education , Human-AI Interaction , and EdTech : how technology can equip learners and educators with the skills, judgment, and agency to navigate what’s coming. The post highlights work connected to data science , learning sciences , computer science , information science , machine learning , large language models , and full-stack development for learning systems . Preferred applicants should care about education broadly defined and be motivated to do research in this area. Helpful preparation includes a background in data science, information science, computer science, learning sciences, HCI, and/or education; solid programming skills; experience with LLMs/ML or full-stack development; strong communication; openness to feedback and iteration; and prior research/publication experience.
