About this position

Universitas Andalas (UNAND), Indonesia, is now accepting applications for Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD programs for the 2026/2027 academic year. International students are encouraged to apply for a wide range of disciplines, including Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Economics, Law, Computer Science, Engineering, Medical Science, Public Health, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Mathematics, Management, Pharmacy, Nursing, Anthropology, Linguistics, Literature, History, and Architecture. The university offers fully funded and partially funded scholarships, with a strong recommendation for international applicants to pursue the fully funded option.

The fully funded scholarship includes a 100% tuition fee waiver, reimbursement for visa and air tickets (initially paid by the student and refunded within two months after arrival), free university dormitory (including electricity and utilities), a free Indonesian language course for almost one semester, a free study permit for the first year, and a monthly allowance of 2 million IDR. The university also provides a robust research ecosystem with university and supervisor-level research grants and excellent opportunities for research publication.

Applicants must have a relevant prior degree with a minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00 for tuition fee scholarships, 3.25/4.00 for partial scholarships, and 3.50/4.00 for full scholarships. IELTS is mandatory for all applicants, with a minimum score of 5.0 for tuition fee scholarships, 5.5 for partial scholarships, and 6.0 for full scholarships. Doctoral applicants must provide at least two Scopus-indexed journal publications and written confirmation from a prospective supervisor. All applicants must submit academic certificates, transcripts, a CV, a passport, a medical certificate, and an application letter addressed to the Rector. Recommendation letters are required for Master's and Doctoral applicants.

To apply, identify your relevant department and research interests, shortlist and contact potential supervisors (especially for Master's and PhD), and prepare all required documents. Applications are submitted via the official portal. The deadline for applications is August 1, 2026. For more information, applicants can consult the faculty and researcher directory and program lists provided in the links.

UNAND welcomes students from all backgrounds and offers additional support for engineering applicants. This is an excellent opportunity for international students seeking fully funded study options in Southeast Asia.
