Experience with animal models is preferred.
Funding is provided as a doctoral scholarship for one year, renewable once for another year after positive evaluation, with a maximum duration of four years. The monthly scholarship follows University of Antwerp rates, and additional benefits include ecocheques, internet-connectivity allowance, and commuting support. The planned start date is 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible after that.

Applicants must hold a Master degree in life sciences (e.g. Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology) or obtain it by the start date. Strong study results are expected, along with research qualities aligned with faculty and university policies and teaching competences aligned with the University of Antwerp’s educational vision. Candidates should demonstrate quality, integrity, creativity, cooperation, and open communication.
