About this position

PhD studentship at Newcastle University in cardiovascular development, focused on pharyngeal endoderm transcriptional networks regulating aortic arch artery development and malformation. Training is provided in developmental biology, bioinformatics, spatial transcriptomics, cell culture, imaging, and molecular genetics, supporting careers in academic, biomedical, and translational research.

Funding: 100% of home tuition fees, annual stipend starting at £21,114, plus research costs and travel to conferences. International candidates may need to pay the fee difference.

Eligibility: at least a 2:1 Honours degree in biology, genetics, biomedicine, or a related subject; willingness to learn bioinformatics; MRes advantageous. IELTS 6.5 overall with minimum 5.5 in each subsection for non-native English speakers.
