About this position

FAPESP is advertising a postdoctoral fellowship in reverse vaccinology, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, virology, and nanovaccine development at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, State University of Campinas (FCF-Unicamp) in Campinas, Brazil.

The project, titled “Advances in Reverse Vaccinology and Molecular Biology: Disruptive Strategies for Avian Influenza Mitigation and Food Sustainability”, focuses on the development of an innovative outer membrane vesicle (OMV)-based nanovaccine derived from attenuated and genetically modified Salmonella enterica. The selected fellow will work on hemagglutinin (HA) antigen expression designed through reverse vaccinology (COBRA), molecular modeling of immunogens, genetic engineering of hypervesicular strains, optimization of OMV production and purification in a bioreactor, and biophysical nanocharacterization plus preliminary immunostimulatory and immunogenic testing in vitro.

Eligibility highlights: PhD completed less than seven years ago in Biotechnology, Immunology, Virology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields; proven laboratory experience in molecular biology and/or cell culture; independent, proactive experimental work; strong organization; full-time dedication. Desired experience includes MUSCLE, BepiPred, vesicle purification, DLS, TEM, zeta potential, Western blot, qPCR, statistical analysis, publication record, and scientific writing in English.

Funding: FAPESP scholarship stipend of R$ 12,570.00. One vacancy is available.
