About this position
Linköping University invites applications for several positions as Application Experts to join the MIMER AI Factory, NAISS, at the forefront of European AI development. This unique opportunity allows you to contribute to the adoption and application of advanced AI methods across diverse domains, including technology, data, life science, materials science, autonomous systems, and more. The positions are part of the EuroHPC AI Factory initiative, aiming to build the next generation of AI infrastructure and support impactful AI solutions for research, industry, and public administration.
As an AI Application Expert, you will support users and projects in applying AI methods, tools, and workflows to real-world challenges. Your responsibilities include providing technical expertise, user support, collaborating with domain experts, and participating in the development of AI services and best practices within MIMER and the wider European AI ecosystem. You will work directly with researchers, companies, and public-sector organizations to identify suitable AI methods, workflows, and technologies for specific use cases, and contribute to pilot projects, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities.
The role also involves knowledge sharing and community building, including developing documentation, tutorials, training materials, and participating in workshops and outreach activities. You will collaborate with experts from academia, industry, and the public sector, helping to identify new opportunities for AI adoption and innovation, and contributing to the continuous improvement of MIMER services and support offerings.
Applicants should hold a Master's degree in AI, computer science, data science, engineering, life sciences, materials science, applied mathematics, or a related field. Practical experience with AI, machine learning, data analytics, or related computational methods is required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to apply technical knowledge to real-world problems, experience working in research, industry, public-sector organizations, or innovation projects, and strong communication skills. Meriting qualifications include experience with modern AI methods (generative AI, foundation models), HPC, cloud computing, data platforms, scientific computing, relevant domains (life science, materials science, autonomous systems, public-sector AI, industrial AI), developing training materials, user support, collaborative projects, European research infrastructures, EuroHPC, international collaborations, and excellent Swedish language skills.
MIMER AI Factory is a European initiative to strengthen trustworthy and competitive AI in research, industry, and the public sector. Through advanced supercomputing infrastructure, expert support, and international collaboration, MIMER enables the development of AI solutions across multiple sectors. The activities are carried out in close collaboration between Linköping University, NAISS, and RISE.
The employment is fixed-term for 1 year, full-time (100%), with individual salary setting and Swedish public employer benefits. NAISS offers the possibility of remote work up to 40% of the working time. The position may be security classified, requiring screening before employment. The application deadline is August 10, 2026.
