Group C (Unionized) Postdoctoral Researchers are Research Fellows recognized by the Quebec government employed at McGill with a valid Doctoral degree (PhD or MD) for a maximum of 5 years after obtaining their Doctoral Degree.
The incumbent is unionized if more than 25% of his salary is paid by McGill Research funds.
Group C Unionized hold a dual status as both students and McGill employees, and are members of the AMURE (Postdocs) bargaining unit. Their pay, benefits, working conditions, etc. are governed by their collective agreement.
Position Summary:
Maintains the lab's spinning disc confocal microscope - Trains new users in performing live-cell imaging of C. elegans germline stem cells - Designs and performs experiments to dissect the mechanism(s) regulating mitotic spindle orientation in C. elegans germline stem cells
Qualifications:
Expertise in C. elegans husbandry, genetics and experimental manipulation - Expertise in florescence microscopy, particularly confocal and live-cell imaging - Expertise in image analysis, including basic scripting in Image J, Matlab and Python - Excellent attention to detail and record keeping - Excellent time and project management skills

Funding details
