About this position

University of Delaware is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join an interdisciplinary project on the evolutionarily conserved functions of microRNAs and their subcellular transport during development.

The researcher will use a range of molecular biology, cell biology, RNA biology, and developmental biology approaches, including microinjection, cellular and biochemical assays, proteomics, and fluorescence microscopy. The work involves studying microRNA regulation and function in fixed and living embryos as well as mammalian cells.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, RNA Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Strong hands-on experience with molecular cloning, confocal imaging, protein expression, biochemistry, and cell culture is expected. The post also asks for a strong publication record, including at least two first-author papers, plus the ability to design experiments, analyze and interpret data, and complete projects to publication. Experience with bioinformatics, especially R programming for RNA-seq or proteomics datasets, is preferred.

Funding and terms: the appointment is initially for one year and may be renewed depending on performance and funding availability. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

How to apply: send a cover letter (up to 2 pages), CV with publications and conferences, and the names/contact details of three professional references. Email the application to [email protected] and use the subject line “Postdoctoral Researcher”. The position is open until filled.
