About this position
.
?? We are hiring a 4-year PhD student in my group at
EHU
/
Ikerbasque
!
The CVPD research group is opening a fully funded PhD position within the recently awarded TOSBI project (TOwards Scalable and generalized Solutions in Biomedical Images).
?? The doctoral research will focus on developing novel deep learning methodologies to address three of the biggest challenges in biomedical image analysis:
* Data scarcity (few or no expert annotations available)
* Scalability (large, complex microscopy datasets)
* Generalization (robust models across modalities and conditions)
The PhD candidate will work on self-/semi-supervised learning, few/zero-shot frameworks, and the adaptation of foundation models to bioimage analysis. Applications include segmentation, classification, and detection of cellular and tissue structures.
?? The project offers:
* A highly interdisciplinary and international research environment
* Opportunities for collaboration and research stays abroad
* Access to cutting-edge infrastructure and open-source platforms like BiaPy
* Comprehensive training for a strong research career at the intersection of computer vision, machine learning, and biomedicine
?? Applications open October 6th and remain open for 3 weeks.
