About this position

The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is a premier national research facility in China, specializing in materials science and neutron-based research. Located in Dongguan, Guangdong, CSNS operates a state-of-the-art accelerator system that generates neutrons for a wide range of scientific investigations. The facility is currently undergoing a major upgrade (CSNS-II), which will boost its beam power to 500 kW and expand its experimental capabilities with new instruments and terminals.

CSNS is actively recruiting over 100 researchers and postdoctoral fellows to join its Accelerator and Neutron Science Departments. Successful candidates will engage in advanced research on high-power proton accelerators, spectrometer construction, and innovative scientific projects spanning nuclear science, condensed matter physics, materials science, chemistry, structural biology, and engineering. The research environment is highly interdisciplinary, supporting collaborations across physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, and computational science.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and a strong record of research excellence and innovation. The positions are full-time and require a commitment to collaborative, high-impact research. Expertise in neutron and synchrotron techniques, ultrafast laser technologies, electron microscopy, or computational materials science is highly valued.

CSNS offers competitive compensation, with postdoctoral salaries ranging from CNY 400,000 to CNY 500,000 per year, plus comprehensive benefits including annual leave, housing funds, and social, medical, and retirement insurance. Additional research grants and housing subsidies are available through national and local talent programs. Exceptional candidates may negotiate further benefits.

To apply, submit your CV, diplomas, two recommendation letters, up to five representative publications, and any other relevant accomplishments to [email protected]. Please include your name, list number, and the position you are applying for in the subject line. The application deadline is June 30, 2026. For more information, visit the CSNS website or use the application link provided.
