About this position
Houston Methodist Research Institute (HMRI) is inviting applications for a faculty position in the Center for RNA Therapeutics / RNA Therapeutics Program in Houston, Texas, USA.
The role is for an Assistant or Associate Professor working in RNA biology or RNA chemistry. The program is highly translational and spans fundamental RNA research, pre-clinical studies in RNA therapeutics, generation of research-grade constructs, and production of RNA therapeutics in a cGMP manufacturing facility for clinical trials.
Ideal candidates will have a strong record of innovative research, the ability to attract external funding (for example NIH), and a collaborative mindset. The institute emphasizes innovation, invention, translation, and contributions to human health. Faculty may also affiliate with Cornell University Weill Cornell Medical College and/or Texas A&M University and may work with students from those institutions.
This is a full-time permanent faculty appointment. The salary is negotiable based on experience. Teaching is not required, though opportunities may be available.
