About this position

The Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) in Barcelona is offering a PhD position within the Harmonic Analysis group for a candidate to join the project Regularity of Measures in High-Dimensional Problems (PID2025-169712NA-I00), financed by MICIU/AEI. This is a four-year, full-time PhD contract with an estimated start before July 2027.

The successful candidate will carry out a PhD thesis at the CRM under the supervision of Dr. Egor Kosov. The project sits at the interface of high-dimensional analysis, probability, and convex geometry, with the possibility of working on problems with a stronger emphasis on approximation theory depending on the candidate’s interests and background.

This opportunity is aimed at first-stage researchers with a Master’s degree in mathematics or an equivalent qualification. Applicants should also have a good background in analysis and/or probability, fluency in spoken and written English, and the ability to present mathematical ideas clearly and work both independently and collaboratively.

The CRM is an independent research centre in the CERCA network, based in Bellaterra (Barcelona), Spain, and works in collaboration with universities and research institutions across Catalonia. The position includes full-time employment, flexible working hours, teleworking options, and training and development opportunities.

Applications must be submitted by email to [email protected], including a curriculum vitae, a cover letter, and a copy of qualifications. The deadline is 20 November 2026 at 13:41 (Europe/Madrid). Selection will follow FPI fellowship guidelines and be based on academic/scientific-technical trajectory and suitability for the research activities.
