The Doctoral Programme for Advancing Forest-Based Bioeconomy (DP-FOBI) at the University of Eastern Finland is now accepting applications for 15 fully funded MSCA doctoral researcher positions. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in forest-based bioeconomy, environmental science, biology, chemistry, economics, and management, with research spanning interdisciplinary themes across natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and health sciences.

DP-FOBI is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions COFUND doctoral programme offering 48 months of full-time employment with a competitive salary and full statutory benefits. The programme emphasizes structured doctoral training in an international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral environment. Doctoral candidates will join UEF’s Forests and Bioeconomy Research Community and benefit from supervision teams, research groups, secondments, short visits to academic and non-academic partners, and training in scientific, transferable, and career-development skills.

The programme’s research themes include forest inventory and ecosystem modelling, novel forest-based products such as green chemistry and well-being applications, and market behaviour in bioeconomy including public discourse analysis, behavioural science, and innovation management. Applicants should be motivated early-stage researchers and must satisfy MSCA eligibility criteria, including the required mobility rules.
