About this position

Fully funded PhD opportunity in Health Economics through the ACROSS Programme, jointly linked to the University of Glasgow and based at the Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) in Bangladesh. The wider ACROSS project aims to develop and evaluate a culturally adapted, affordable home-based cardiac rehabilitation programme for people with long-term conditions including heart disease and anxiety/depression.

This studentship is suitable for candidates with a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Health, Economics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Health Services Research, or a closely related field. Applicants should be fluent English speakers and demonstrate a strong interest in health economics, health policy, and evidence-informed healthcare decision-making. Non-native English speakers must provide evidence of their highest-level English language qualification.

Funding is fully covered: international tuition fees are paid, university registration fees are covered, and a stipend is provided at the applicable local rate. The funding notes specify a stipend of £3,800 per year (approximately 631,643 Bangladeshi Taka), paid by the partner university in Bangladesh.
