Fully Funded PhD in Neural Circuits, Sex Differences, and Adaptive Behavior Institute of Neuroscience CSIC-UMH in Spain

Universidad de Alcalá is offering a full-time postdoctoral position in the neurobiology of pain within its Department of Systems Biology in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain. The project focuses on the spinal circuits recruited after optogenetic activation of nociceptive afferent neuron subpopulations and on developing an ex vivo sensitization model using specific patterns of optogenetic stimulation. The work is embedded in an established laboratory environment where the procedures are already ro...

Funded PhD opportunity at The Francis Crick Institute in London, United Kingdom. This 2027 Crick PhD project with Dr Jonny Kohl focuses on the function and flexibility of neural circuits for instinctive behaviours , with a strong emphasis on neuroscience , behavioural biology , and state-dependent brain plasticity. The project asks how physiological states such as reproductive, metabolic, and hormonal conditions shape information processing in the brain and alter instinctive behaviours including...

Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Neurobiology and Behaviour at the University of Sussex , based in Brighton, UK, in the laboratory of Professor Claudio Alonso . The project focuses on neural development and function in Drosophila , with an emphasis on how molecular biology of neurons relates to the development and function of neural circuits. The successful candidate will join the Alonso lab and work closely with group members and UK/international collaborators in a vibrant neuroscience environme...

Fully funded PhD opportunity in Neuroscience at the University of Exeter through the GW4 BioMed MRC Doctoral Training Partnership . Project title: How sights become signals for learning This project asks how the brain learns that a previously meaningless visual cue predicts something important, building on recent findings that activity in the superior colliculus is required for dopamine responses to learned visual cues. The student will investigate how visual information gains access to dopamine...

Postdoctoral Fellow opening in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Cincinnati , working in the laboratory of Dr. Chelsie Brewer . The project is centered on pain research with translational relevance, especially the downstream effects of inflammation and injury on pain-transmitting circuits and knee osteoarthritis . The lab uses a broad set of methods including electrophysiology , calcium imaging , in situ hybridization , immunohistochemistry , neural circuit tracing , and beha...
