About this position

The Benam Lung Microengineering Lab at the University of Pittsburgh is recruiting six fully funded Postdoctoral Associate positions in organ-on-chip and microphysiological systems.

Research areas include: lung models and host–pathogen interactions, microvascular models and extracellular matrix biology, intestinal models and oral drug delivery, hematopoietic and immune-system modeling, hepatic models and drug metabolism, and virology and infectious-disease modeling.

This is highly interdisciplinary work at the interface of engineering and biology, with applications in infection dynamics, PK/PD, therapeutic development, technology development, and intellectual property. The lab highlights access to strong research infrastructure and collaborations across academic, government, and translational teams.

Eligibility: applicants should hold, or expect shortly to receive, a PhD, MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline. Experience in cell biology, bioengineering, tissue engineering, pharmacology, immunology, virology, infectious diseases, or related fields is encouraged.
