This is a full-time, fixed-term research role for four years, funded by The Mohn Westlake Foundation, with a starting salary of £45,025 per annum and potential extension to a fifth year depending on funding.
The post sits in the Behaviour, Business and Policy KERI and supports Kingston’s flagship Future Skills programme, which embeds skills such as problem-solving, digital competency and collaboration across undergraduate degrees. Key responsibilities include co-creation research with industry and employer partners, support for student research projects, dissemination through peer-reviewed journals, conferences, policy briefs and white papers, and contribution to external funding and knowledge exchange bids. The role also involves guidance on qualitative data collection, analysis and interpretation, plus reporting to the Future Skills Research Steering Group and The Mohn Westlake Foundation.
Essential requirements include a PhD in education, social sciences or a related discipline (or equivalent research experience), strong expertise in qualitative and applied research design, experience with interviews/focus groups/thematic or framework analysis, and a track record of publications and conference presentations. Experience with stakeholder engagement, co-production, and research funding applications is also required. Desirable experience includes research on student outcomes, graduate employability, skills development, education evaluation, employer co-creation, and knowledge exchange.
