Graduate positions are available in Grain Storage and Post-Harvest Technology at the University of Manitoba, within the Department of Biosystems Engineering and the Grain Storage and Post-Harvest Technology Lab.
The lab is seeking applicants for M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs beginning in Fall 2026 / Winter 2027 under the supervision of Prof. Fuji Jian.
Research areas include CFD-based heat and mass transfer modeling, DEM simulation for grain separation and airflow resistance, pest population modeling, grain ecosystem simulation, insect sensor development, and quality monitoring of stored products such as grain and potato.
Funding is available through graduate assistantships and research stipends.
Eligibility: M.Sc. applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Ph.D. applicants should have an M.Sc. degree in an engineering discipline with a strong research/publication record. Preferred skills include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, programming, numerical modeling, and strong English communication skills.
